College Readiness Resources for Students and Parents

The Ready Washington coalition has launched the Opt In for Student Success project to encourage students to use their voices to talk about high-quality education; the value of assessments; and being prepared for college, work, and life.

The  Washington Student Achievement Council also has resources for students and parents about the Smarter Balanced assessment and the opportunities provided to students who take the 11th grade state assessment.

Finally, OSPI has also developed numerous family resources, in several languages, to help parents and students understand the standards, assessments, and graduation requirements. Of special note is Planning to Go to College?, a resource about using Smarter Balanced scores to qualify for entry-level, credit-bearing college courses.
