Student Success Story
Susan Cedar, Bridge to College Math teacher from Mariner High School (Mukilteo), shared with us the following success story:
“I have a student who is going into the National Guard. At the semester, she dropped pre-calculus and came into my Bridge Course (I will admit, I was intimidated about what I had to offer her.) She took a practice ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) earlier this year and scored a 17 on her math and logical reasoning. She just retook her practice again this week and scored a 29! She says it is because of this class and all the problems she has to solve.” It’s exciting to see examples like this one showing how the approach to math in the Bridge to College course can open doors and pathways for students that might otherwise have been closed!
